I am writing a War/Peace Trilogy; each piece is around 26.2 minutes long, and it is set to be performed for the first time in the spring. Part 1 takes place during WWI, part 2 takes place now at a fundraiser, and part 3 is called "Red Nose/Hiroshima". Although I am a professional performer and playwright, it is still hard to be brave enough to face creating the work that most deeply moves me, even when it is rocketing around in my head and I am already buying props! The programs at CSMA foster similar bravery and creative manifestation in children, many of whom would have no opportunities outside of csma's scholarships

I am keenly interested in faces—whether they are human, insect, animal or the face of a building. I explore the conceptual configuring of what it means to capture an "entry," a spatial opening that may be a door or the eyes that leads to understanding, of personality and design. To that end, I use photography, painting, poetry and digital multimedia techniques in a variety of combinations.

String or Nothing: a series of 13 original works based on what I have in my pockets (which on any given day can be quite a collection). My explorations will include different media from ink to watercolor, acrylic to sculpture and will explore different styles through those media including impressionist, cubist, and graphic. The initial installation and first work will be posted during the first day and the original works will be posted every other day for the 26 day marathon. Raffle.

I will be doing several reflective pieces on the evolution of an artist, represented visually by a collage of one old, and one new work, rearranged together like a square puzzle. At the end of the event I will hold a raffle for each piece, tickets sold at $3.00 each. Each work will be on 8 1/2 x 11" paper.

I will be creating portraits based on people's stories—from strangers to good friends—will attempt to capture their spirit. Unlike my last series, Faces Touched by War, this experiment is aimed more to encourage people to see themselves in a new light, rather than to have an audience view their story.
