The Ithaca Children's Choir (ICC) is a nationally
recognized ensemble which is committed to excellence within an
environment of support and cooperation. In all its branches, there
is an emphasis on the joy of singing. Students sing a diverse
repertoire of the highest caliber. The ICC is a year-long program.
Financial assistance is available for students in need.

TRAINING CHOIR
C01
Ages 7-10
An ensemble where students discover and learn to
use their singing voices in a healthy and expressive manner. Through
the joy of song and a variety of rehearsal techniques, students
learn basic skills of singing and musical literacy. They perform
at least twice per year.

C02
Ages 8-12
Students receive more advanced training in singing
skills and musical literacy. The repertoire expands to include more
2-part and 3-part literature. Performance skills are also expanded,
and the ensemble performs at least three times per year.

C03
Students move to a much more advanced
level of singing and literacy skills. There is an expansion of the
styles of music studied, a variety of languages introduced, and
a higher level of difficulty overall. This ensemble performs three
major concerts a year, with additional performances scheduled.

C04
This group provides advanced training
in all areas of musicianship. Repertoire further expands to include
more difficult selections in a variety of languages and in music
of up to 8 parts. This ensemble performs three major concerts a
year, with additional performances scheduled throughout the year.
The Chorale is the touring choir of the ICC and has been featured
annually at the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra’s holiday concert, “Caroling
by Candlelight."

YOUNG MEN’S CHORUS OF ITHACA

The Young Men’s Chorus of Ithaca is for young men
whose voices are no longer treble voices. The participants will
gain skill in using their voices in an expressive and healthy manner
and will receive advanced training in musicianship. Diverse repertoire
written for men’s voices will be studied. The ensemble will perform
two concerts per year with possible additional performances.
